Intro to Python Bootcamp (In Person and on Zoom) In-Person / Online
Come learn to program in Python! Intended for absolute beginners or anyone wanting to review the basics, this workshop lays the foundation for attendees to understand Python code and begin writing scripts.
The workshop follows the Software Carpentries workshop curriculum Plotting and Programming in Python, and will cover introductory topics such as variables, data types, data frames, plotting, lists, for loops, conditionals, and (if time allows) writing basic functions.
Before the workshop, please install Python 3 in the interface of your choice. We recommend either JupyterLab Desktop (available for installation here) or Anaconda (instructions here). If you need help troubleshooting an installation, you can make an appointment with us. If you aren't allowed to install anything on your computer, or if you are having trouble with your installation, you can instead use Google CoLab, but be aware that there are differences between CoLab and Jupyter Notebooks, such as how to upload data to CoLab.
