Copyright & Licensing for Open Educational Resources Online
Open Educational Resources (OER), like all intellectual property, are subject to the laws of copyright. But some authors and creators would like a way to share and allow others to adapt their work without written permission. Creative Commons created a set of open licenses that enable creators of copyrightable work the ability to retain copyright while allowing others to copy, distribute, and make use of their work within the license terms.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the basics of copyright, licensing, and the implications for adopting, adapting, or creating Open Educational Resources (OER), so that they feel confident selecting and assigning an open license for their work.
