Come learn to program in Python! Intended for absolute beginners or anyone wanting to review the basics, this one-day intensive workshop lays the foundation for attendees to understand Python code and begin writing scripts.
The workshop follows the Software Carpentries workshop curriculum Plotting and Programming in Python, and will cover introductory topics such as variables, data types, data frames, and plotting. If time allows, we'll continue on to lists, for loops, conditionals, and writing basic functions. This is the same curriculum as our biweekly Python sequence, but truncated to fit into a single day.
Before the workshop, please install Anaconda and JupyterLab so you can code along. Having trouble with the installation? Come 15 minutes early or schedule a quick appointment with Data Services if you need help.
