Cultural Data Science: Bridging Data, Code, and Culture In-Person / Online

How can data and code help us better understand art, culture, and the humanities?

In this talk, Dr. Harald Klinke, joining us via zoom, introduces the principles of Cultural Data Science and shows how computational methods—especially using R—can support research. Drawing on examples from art history and museum collections, it highlights how data and code can reveal new perspectives on cultural patterns.

This session coincides with the publication of his new book,
