Citizen Science with Zooniverse - Astronomy and Physics! In-Person
What is Citizen Science? What's Zooniverse and how does it related to making science engageable with the general public? Join Kristin Buxton, Science Librarian, and Kate Thornhill, Digital Scholarship Librarian, in an introduction to Citizen Science and using Zooniverse for crowdsourced research projects.
We will be learning how to use Zooniverse through the Gravity Spy project. Join us in identifying glitches found in image research data produced the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO), and contribute to what is one of the top breakthroughs in physics in the 21st century.
All are welcome to join! Come help us analyze image research datasets representing the gravitational waves of blackholes!
