About the Building Digital Archives & Storytelling with CollectionBuilder Workshop Series

In this 3-week workshop series you will learn how to create a website for a digital archive. Together with librarians you will gain experience presenting a digital collection using the freely available and open-source software, CollectionBuilder.  The workshop series will cover web development and methodologies for working with digital resources like images and documents along with the annotations that give them context. You’ll learn the technical skills required to build a digital humanities project based in working with digital special collections and archival collections and telling interpretive stories with them.

This workshop series is appropriate for anyone who wants to learn to build their own digital humanities project that centers storytelling with digital collections, whether for a class or grant project. You should be comfortable learning new things, but no prior experience with web design and working with data is required. All attendees are encouraged to have a digital collections project idea before you join the workshop series. These workshops will be remote and offered over Zoom.

Registration is required for all workshops. Come learn how to build a digital collection for your digital humanities project. We’ll have a good time working with data and building a website!

This workshop series was sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and developed in partnership with the University of Idaho Libraries.
