Machine Learning and Data Analysis in Python: WiDS Datathon In-Person / Online

Interested in data science and AI? Want to try your coding skills on real data? The Department of Data Science and Data Services are hosting events for the Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide Datathon. Workshops will be held during Data Science Teatime, on April 16th and 23rd from 1:00 – 2:30 PM in Pacific Hall 204. Tea, coffee, and snacks will be provided.
Anyone at UO can enter the Kaggle competition, but at least half of a team must identify as women to be eligible for prizes. Data and Python tutorials are available from WiDS; workshops will feature live programming demonstrations.
April 16th: Neuroscience graduate students Lucy Whitmore and Madeleine Goldberg will provide a thoughtful introduction to fMRI data. Librarian Erin Winter will demonstrate a simple data science pipeline in Python using Pandas and ScikitLearn.
April 23rd: Sprint to the finish! Get programming support as we demonstrate model evaluation and analysis.
